The Privacy Manager will assist Compliance team and company in meeting the privacy expectations of the compliance program, including controls, policies & procedures, communications, and training. The Privacy Manager will work in a professional role with a high level of independence, to ensure reported privacy incidents are investigated, program elements are implemented, and controls are examined periodically for effectiveness and efficiency. The Privacy Manager will lead department analysts and serve in a back-up role to Compliance leadership team. The role requires knowledge of privacy regulations including HIPAA and state data breach and privacy laws; interoperability, records management and access processes, investigative processes; policy management; and have general knowledge of insurance privacy practices. The Privacy Manager shall be self-initiating for projects seeking supervisory guidance where appropriate. The Privacy Manager will receive direction and oversight of work from the Compliance executive team but will also be expected to ascend to serve as the Privacy Officer.
