USD $105,270.00 - USD $131,588.00 /Yr.

Overview

Navitus Health Solutions is seeking a Sr. Software Engineer to join our Information Technology department! 

 

The Sr. Software Engineer ensures efforts are in alignment with Enterprise Architecture team to support customer-focused objectives and the IT Vision, a collaborative partner delivering innovative ideas, solutions and services to simplify people’s lives.  The role is to develop, test, and analyze software applications in support of the achievement of business requirements.  The individual will also research, document and modify software applications throughout the software development life cycle. 

This role assumes technical leadership for development within the Enterprise Architecture space. It requires a strong understanding of development and architectural principles that can be applied to enhance overall quality, speed, and scalability of development across the organization. This role will also work on adding visibility to technical debt and increasing software delivery speed, quality, and efficiency across the enterprise.

Responsibilities

How do I make an impact on my team?

  • Proactively conduct research into emerging technologies, trends, standards, and products to expose industry best practices and potential future disruptions 
  • Research and identify technology upgrades which will enhance the ability to deliver robust solutions 
  • Ensure the new projects and enhancements to legacy solutions (where possible) work towards an enterprise architecture as opposed to a proliferation of point solutions 
  • Ensure architectural integrity and consistency across the entire product 
  • Work with other technical teams to define and identify cross-functional solutions for integration with new or existing technologies 
  • Lead application and system architecture design working in conjunction with partners in the areas of architecture and infrastructure 
  • Lead the effort for design, development and implementation to deliver solutions which are easily maintainable and scalable 
  • Direct or indirect involvement in the development of policies, standards, and guidelines that direct the selection, development, implementation and use of Information Technology within the enterprise 
  • Provide coaching and guidance to colleagues to ensure applications, services, and processes are developed in a way that complies with architectural guidelines and established methodologies 
  • Informs management and provides recommendations for mitigation of potential bottlenecks or single-points of failure within the environment that may affect system performance or availability 
  • Identify roadblocks or areas of concern and bring potential solutions to management’s attention 
  • Technical ownership of systems in which the team is responsible for 
  • Estimate effort required for the design, development and implementation of technical solutions  
  • Other duties as assigned 

Qualifications

What our team expects from you?  

  • College degree typically in the field of computer science, information systems, or software engineering, and must have 8+ years of professional development experience   
  • Proven technical leadership within a team and an organization 
  • Proficient development skills utilizing .NET Core, C#, JavaScript, and Angular 
  • Experience using git and Azure DevOps (TFS) to manage development codebases 
  • Excellent understanding of coding methods and best practices including object oriented programming 
  • Excellent understanding of application performance and tuning using development techniques such as caching and application gateway 
  • Experience developing and implementing RESTful APIs including routes secured with an enterprise grade identity management platform 
  • Experience developing and implementing a role based security model 
  • Experience with data integration using standard formats such as HL7 FHIR and NCPDP standards 
  • Experience creating real time integrations using event streaming tools such as Kafka/Confluent 
  • Proven design, development and thorough understanding of a microservices architecture 
  • Oracle and/or SQL Server database development experience 
  • Familiarity with NOSQL databases 
  • Prior experience collaborating with business teams to analyze business requirements and develop technical specifications 
  • Ability to interview end-users for insight on functionality, interface, problems, and/or usability issues 
  • Hands-on experience developing test cases and test plans including unit testing as part of the development process 
  • Experience with agile software delivery methods including continuous integration and delivery using technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift 
  • Knowledge of accessibility requirements as it relates to application development such as section 508 and WCAG 
  • Healthcare industry practices and HIPAA knowledge would be a plus
  • Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws  
  • Participate in, adhere to, and support compliance program objectives
