Pay Range

USD $112,639.65 - USD $140,799.56 /Yr.

Overview

Due to growth, we are adding a Release Train Engineer to our IT Delivery department

 

The Release Train Engineer (RTE) provides servant leadership and coaching to a program level Agile Release Train (ART) containing multiple cross-functional agile teams through the effective application of Agile principles, including Program Increment (PI) planning and Scrum of Scrums. The RTE ensures all teams within the ART are positioned to deliver value to the Company, maintains transparency into program delivery predictability and forecasting and keeps all stakeholders and team members informed of the ART's progress. The RTE supports the ART teams by removing impediments, maintaining a focus on the delivery of value and in partnership with the Portfolio ensures the program backlog is clearly defined and prioritized. Keeps the program on track to ensure successful delivery of value for the organization.

Responsibilities

How do I make an impact on my team? 

  • Establish and communicate the annual calendars for Program Increments (PIs)
  • Organize, facilitate, and mature program level communication and ceremonies, including PI planning events, Scrum of Scrums, ART Synchs (synchronizations) and retrospective ceremonies
  • Work closely with Product Owners to ensure alignment on the value of Epics and features, facilitate the intake of work, prioritize the program backlog, and distribute work to the teams within the ART
  • Keep stakeholders informed of the ART's progress utilizing program level metrics, reporting, tools, and dashboards to ensure alignment with program objectives
  • Manage risks, facilitate alignment, provide transparency, identify dependencies, and remove impediments within the ART
  • Influence senior leaders and coach the ART teams to ensure use of Agile practices and principles
  • Cross-functionally partner on program metrics strategies with ownership of delivery metrics that matter
  • Lead, develop and mentor a team of individuals
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

What our team expects from you?

  • 3+years as a RTE, Scrum Master, or Product Owner
  • Understanding of agile at scale philosophies or methodologies
  • Scrum Master or Product Owner Certification
  • Experience with ALM tools such as Jira, VersionOne, Rally, Azure DevOps
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Information Systems or other relevant technical field of study preferred
  • Experience working in Healthcare, PBM preferred
  • Agile Transformation preferred
  • Experience leveraging and interpreting agile metrics preferred
  • Experience synthesizing data from multiple sources and uses that information to develop insights on train’s status preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate large planning events preferred
  • Participate in, adhere to, and support compliance program objectives
  • The ability to consistently interact cooperatively and respectfully with other employees
