Pay Range

USD $98,384.00 - USD $122,980.00 /Yr.

STAR Bonus % (At Risk Maximum)

5.00 - Salaried Non-Management except pharmacists

Overview

Navitus Health Solutions is seeking a Sr. Database Administrator to join our team!

 

The Sr. Database Administrator is expected to lead and provide guidance to junior Database Administrators, while at the same time, fulfilling all requirements of the Database Administrator 2 responsibilities. The Sr. Database Administrator must be able to create, update, configure, manage, and administer databases for the current and future versions of Oracle and SQL Server databases. The Database Administrator must be able to work in a dynamic environment with stakeholders and team members to manage Oracle and Sql Server database software over various operating systems such as Red Hat Linux and Windows, as well as physical and virtual hardware configurations. Must be able to create instances to include control files, redo logs, archive log and other parameters as required. Will be relied on to provide IT project management guidance/input and expertise for projects and special projects as needed. The role is responsible to integrate DBMS(s) and data with existing application software, web sites, portals, storage devices or business applications. In addition, the role is responsible for developing, assisting, and testing Disaster Recovery (DR) and Business Continuity Plans. Finally, the Sr. Database Administrator must be able to recover database failures, DBMS and data using RMAN, exports, FLASHBACK, VMWare snapshots, Snap Manager for Oracle, etc.

Responsibilities

How do I make an impact on my team? 

  • Develop & maintain naming standards for database objects such as tablespaces, tables, indexes & views
  • Install, configure, patch, maintain, and upgrade Oracle and Sql Server software and related products
  • Troubleshoot and resolve Oracle and Sql Server errors and user requests
  • Develop, implement, and enforce database standards, security guidelines and operational policies and procedures
  • Migrate database objects through the lifecycle management process for the development team
  • Monitor and apply performance tuning techniques to ensure the databases operate at high levels
  • Evaluate Oracle and Sql Server enhancements and features
  • Design and develop capacity planning processes of all databases
  • Review proposed architectural data models to ensure applications are being designed in accordance with database best practices
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

What our team expects from you?

  • A minimum of an associate degree and more than 10 years of appropriate work experience is required. A bachelor’s degree of Computer Science is preferred
  • A high-understanding in-database administration concepts
  • A proven track record of success in an established database administration role
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and managerial staff is required
  • Additional experience in data warehouse development and business intelligence report development is preferred
  • Expert experience with Oracle 11g, Sql Server, SQL development/optimization/performance tuning, data modeling and database design, and database backup and recovery techniques
  • Expert understanding of Unix & Linux operating systems, Windows operating System, PL/SQL, Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM), Oracle Real Application Clustering (RAC), Oracle Automatic Storage Management (ASM), and Snap Manager for Oracle (SMO)
  • Participate in, adhere to, and support compliance program objectives
  • The ability to consistently interact cooperatively and respectfully with other employees
